ATK High Performance Engines is the largest automotive Engine Remanufacturer in the country. The High Performance engine division is seeking a full time Warranty / Tech Help person to add to our team.
Inspect material received, perform failure analysis, and create inspection reports determining the cause of failure to provide feedback to the factory and customer by performing the following duties:
Essential Job Duties:
Be familiar with ATK internal Policies, values, and ATK Quality Policy
Be aware of his/her process/sub-process and know related procedures
Understands the basic theory and operation of the internal combustion engine.
Examines and inspects defects of the engine and determines the cause of failure.
Keys information into computer to compile work volume statistics for accounting purposes and to keep records of customer service requests and complaints.
Procure and maintain all supplies, tools, and equipment for technical employees.
Create inspection reports including inspection images
Inspect engines and components according to the Warranty procedure (P0583001).
Determine causes of failure (root causes when possible), assigning correct failure codes.
Maintains harmony among workers
Maintain a safe and clean work environment (control of housekeeping record R0164001).
Be familiar with ATK’s Code of Safe Work Practices.
Education & Experience: Engine Builder/Engine Machinist; One to two years related experience and/or training; or Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organizations. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs. Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Essential Physical Demands/Work Environment: Be able to lift up to 60 lbs (if presented with material that is at a weight greater than one’s comfort level, any employee can request assistance). Stand for extended periods. Should be able to tolerate high and low-temperature levels. The employee is occasionally exposed to extreme cold and extreme heat. The noise level in the work environment is moderately loud.
