This truck started out as a 1997 ¾ ton long bed with a 12 valve Cummins engine. The truck has been highly modified to meet Pro Street qualifications. The truck has been lightened by several hundred pounds including gutting the bed, leaving only the outer skin. The approximate weight is 5240 lbs. The truck runs ¼ miles in 10.60’s and the 1/8 mile in 6.60’s. There is definitely potential for more with proper tuning. The truck has several wins in national events with coverage in multiple diesel magazines.
The engine has been bored to .020 and has Mahle Marine low compression pistons. Rotating assembly is balanced. Engine work by Terry Labonte Racing. Ported and polished head with fire rings and custom performance valves with Titanium locks and retainers by Keating Machine and Malaska Motorsports. Custom high flow Keating Machine log style intake manifold bolted to head. 13MM tuned pump with quick rate cam and springs with Scheid adjustable fuel stop. Full cut delivery valves with 120 EDM holders. Stainless injection lines. Custom built 5x25 145 degree dual feed injectors by John Link. Air Dog 200 lift pump. Compound twin turbos- S-400 over S-500 on a stainless manifold with a high flow Scheid intercooler and a 5” E.D. air shut off. Transmission is a full billet 47RE Jeff Garmon design with Suncoast parts. Converter is a five disk, high stall Diesel Performance Converter by Phil Taylor. Roll cage is 1-3/4 tubing with an NHRA certification built by Hedgecock Racing. Aluminum seats with five point Simpson belts. Mickey Thompson 17” wheels with 390/40/17 MH Drag Radial tires. Air shocks on rear with Caltrac bars. Auxillary Tranny cooler with fan, electric water pump, dual electric fans, shaft loops and 5 gal. fuel cell
