1951 Henry J, dragcar. This is a great bracket racer or can run S/S with weight. This car was redesigned to run without constant tinkering. It has a fast burn Chevy 350 cu. in. 335 hp. that was used in my 3200 lb. Camaro that ran, 11:3’s. This car weights, 2300 and it has run 10:8’s in shakedown runs only.

The chassis is a custom built mild steel chassis with recent upgrades to the front end, brake system, rollcage and has been entirely rewired.

Chassis, the front has a Strange Engineering strut frontend with Strange double piston disc brakes. The rear is a Camaro 12 bolt with ladder bar suspension and 5:14 Richmond gears. Stock drum brakes are on the rear. Master cylinder is a manually regulated Wilwood racing unit with the external pressure regulator. The engine is mounted on front and rear motor plates as seen in pictures. The fuel cell is 3 gal. mounted in the trunk. Battery is a red top Optima also in the trunk.

Body, is all steel and has been sectioned over the chassis and is strickly a racecar. The one piece nose is also steel. The rear lights are wired per NHRA regs.

The 350 engine has a 750 Holley double pumper just refreshed and performs flawlessly.

Transmission, is a 2 speed Powerglide with 1:76 first gear. Converter is a TCI 5500 #254006…

Tires are, front: 26 X4.5
Rear: 32 X 14.5 wide

The car is equipped with a Hurst Line Loc for burnouts and a trans brake for launch.
There is also two 2 steps the low set at 3500 and the high at 6400 RPM’s

Overall: I bought this car in 2010 and made extensive upgrades throughout. I became ill early in the 2011 season but had made several runs in testing. Following rehab in 2011 we changed the rollcage, for my comfort, by installing a swing-out door bar and seat relocation. Looking to 2012, my back problems became worse and the car sat in my garage. It is time to sell and let someone younger enjoy this car. My price doesn’t cover the parts and fabrication costs that I have invested in this car. I’m looking to sell but I’m not giving it away. My price is $23,500… I will listen to a reasonable offer but no trades.
